Spider-Girl #5 A Touch of Venom
Characters Spider-Girl/Mayday Venom Symbiote, Peter, MJ, Uncle Phil Urich, Aunt Margarett (mentioned) Story Summary Venom's symbiote is being kept at a maximum security facility. When a guard shows the Venom shell the front page of a news paper with Spider-Girl as the headline he breaks free. Peter throws May's costume away giver her no change to explain her self. He informs her that she is done being Spider-Girl. After May leaves for practice MJ gets upset at Peter for not listening to his daughter. He tells her to be responsible, but when she wants to use her sense of responsibility he gets upset at her. May doesn't go to practice, she needs to cool off so she goes for a walk. Peter eventually understands and agrees with MJ, and he goes in search of May. Before he finds her he is found by the Venom symbiote which is delighted to have him for a host. They (Peter and the Sybiote) continue the search for May. Spider-Venom leaves her alive though letting Mayday run to her mother where she hopes to learn all she can about Venom. Her mother presents May's costume and Spider-Girl heads off to get Uncle Phil. Phil has some Green Goblin equipment still, and one of the items lets him create a sonic blast with his voice, his lunatic laugh. Spider-Girl and Uncle Phil work together to defeat the symbiote and rescue Peter. However, this convinces Peter more than ever that May being Spider-Girl is way too dangerious. Peter and Uncle Phil have a talk. Peter meant by this talk that May could not be Spider-Girl, but Phil misunderstood and thinks that Peter just wants Spider-Girl kept secret from MJ so that she doesn't worry.
