Spider-Girl's Net Left Bar

The Heroine

Overview

Her name is May (Mayday) Parker, and she is the daughter of the original Spider-Man. Several years earlier on a trip to a science lab a spider bit May's father, Peter Parker. Normally this wouldn't matter much, but this spider had gotten too close to the radiation caused by the experiments in the lab. Peter was never to be the same again. He gained the proportionate abilities of the spider, making him super strong, extra agile, and amazingly fast, but that's not all. Peter also gained the ability to stick to walls, and a spider-sense that warns him of danger. This enabled him to become Spider-Man.

Peter eventually married the beautiful Mary Jane Watson, and they had a child. If you are used to following the Marvel Universe then here is where things get a little different. In Amazing Spider-man, the child is kidnapped or dies, it's difficult to say which actually happened. However, if you spin into a different universe, specifically the MC2 (Marvel Comics 2) Universe, then we discover that May was kidnapped, but that her parents did get her back.

Continuing with the MC2 universe, Peter Parker fought in a final battle against the Green Goblin, Norman Osborn, and lost his leg. He gave up his webs to spend more time with this family.

Oh what a shock it was, when Mary Jane and Peter notice their daughter's superhuman-like abilities starting to show. When her parents were threatened by the new Green Goblin, Normie Osborn the grandson of the original Green Goblin, May donned a costume she found in the attic, and became Spider-Girl, friendly neighborhood web-stunner.

Spider-Girl has since dedicated herself to protecting the innocent, she is often found saying, "No one dies on my watch", and she does her very best to make that true.

Mayday lives in Queens with her parents in the house that her father grew up in. It is just the four of them, now that she has a little brother named Benjamin Richard Parker. May attends Midtown High School where we often see her hanging out with her friends. (More info the friends to come)

I highly recommend that you start reading Spider-Girl NOW! You'll love it!
